Any way of knowing what position a player can train?

Before you buy them?

As I honestly am baffled by it, I don't understand it at all. Jeff Bagwell can inexplicably train to play 2B or SS, but Bill Terry, a better 1B, can't even train to play 3rd? Some bad corner outfielders seem to be allowed to give CF a go, whereas others can't, yet I can't really see the distinction?

Is it based on their ratings in certain areas, or where they ever played in real life? So if I bought Jimmy Foxx, could he train to be a horrendous catcher as he played there a bit when he was young?

LH thrower cannot train any infield pos except 1B.

Max 1B rating includes height as a component...tall guys make better 1B.

You can't train a catcher that doesn't have at least one catcher rating...and it generally is not done at all because of how incredibly slowly catchers improve.

There's a calculator available, I don't have a link handy but ask around on Discord.

Ah, completely forgot about left handedness, cheers, that'll be a big factor.

@Magus978 had posted a positional calculator last year from this thread.
