Signing then releasing

My team just signed a 37-year-old Doug Jones for 2 years then 10 days later release him. How much is the team out for the 2 million dollar contract.
I believe this is an old issue that's been around for a while but i never thought about the contract and does the team eat it...Everyone have a safe day...

I think the team is on the hook for the entire amount.

Team eats the entire cost of the contract, spread over the 2 years, unless you have the 2nd a team option..
