Editor Changing Player Names
I started my own historical league and while it isn't set up the way I like it I thought I could use it to take some time for practical learning on how to get the league where I want it to be.
One of the issues I am having is that I seem to be able to edit some players in the player editor and not others. I can not for the life of me see the reason why or the distinction as to why one player edits while another does not. I was able to manage everyone on my active rosters no problem. However I was given notice of an international star and all I wanted to do was change his name. No matter what I did no changes to any of his stats would work. He is signed and a member of my organization. I waited days and came back and tried to edit with no luck, again other players were editable. Even when I tried to clone the player all the information remained unchanged no matter what I did. I am in commissioner mode on this league as well. So what gives? Does anyone know why I cant seem to edit this one specific player and any tips on how to fix this? Thanks! |

No idea. But I'd suggest posting the specifics of how your league is setup, and some examples, including screenshots, of a player you can edit and a player you can't.

yeah never heard or come across this issue. Can you post a SS of the player you can't edit.
Do you have commissioner mode turned on? |

if you try to edit a player that has "real Life Stats", the game will return to his historical numbers after the current season is over. One way to get the edits to stick is to clone the player, then delete the real one and edit the clone. HOWEVER, if the player has major league experience, cloning will not always (seldom is better term) erase the major league years of experience, and that will affect free agency, etc.
Another way is to simply delete the historical player (you may want to write down his historical stats or lifetime average) and create a new player from the free agent page, and edit that player (including the fictional name it will create). That method, tedious as it is, will let you recreate the renamed players as you desire. But you need to be in commish mode to do that. and i'd recommend making a back-up of your entire league before doing any of the above, in case it isn't something you like.
