OOTP files in containers

Can anyone speak as to whats going on with OOTP files being put in their own container file rather than how they used to just be in your typical library file.

Also, the new beta has its own container file which is different than the last beta from yesterday so now I have to figure out how to transfer all my saved game and other files i imported into the new container.

This is all a hassle and just curious as to why the new beta version has a new container. I'm nervous that every time there's an update I'll have to manually transfer over all my saved game files and such.

Im on a mac btw, which I know factors into this.
