How to download newest patch

Im sorry but I cant for the life of me figure out how to install latest patch. Im on a regular PC so from what I understand Im supposed to simply click on "pc installer" and then click run but its still showing the old version. If there are more steps can someone please direct me on step by step instructions?

Like if I end up clicking on that download for example it seems like it wants to reinstall the game from the start

Read that paragraph where you clicked the download link again. It looks like you grabbed the standalone installer. Click the one that simply says PC Installer. The one you are showing will download from clicking "PC Single Folder Installer".

You will download an *.exe file. Run that by double clicking it and it will walk you through the install,

It will still look a lot like the original install... and that is fine. It is replacing the files necessary to patch.

The one I had been clicking is the one that simply says main server: pc installer and not single folder installer

So click the one that says single folder?

You want to download:

Download link for PC Beta (Fastspring Webstore Version):
Main server: PC Installer

Click on the words PC Installer.

If it asks you if you want to save the file, click YES or OK.

If it doesn't ask you that means it's automatically downloading to your computer.

It's not a big file so it shouldn't take very long at all.

When it is finished you want to click on the download that says: ootp21setup.exe

You should be able to handle things from there.

Just out of curiosity, which web browser do you use?

You need to run that file you downloaded as ifyou are installing it again.

That is all the update is. A new install file.

It will install new files over the top of the old ones (but leave your saves, etc).

OK I did that as well I actually had already I just also had tried the single file one and when I click on the exe and double click it does what you all say as if its a new game yet it still downloads the old version build 34

If you clicked the link in my post, it is impossible to download anything but v21.4.63. That's about all I can tell you. How did you get OOTP 21 installed in the first place? The upgrade process is no different from the 1st installation you had to do. Good luck.

After you have double clicked and run the file OOTP21setup.exe per the link it will start up the game when complete. When the game starts up the build information can be found per the attached screenshot. Ensure this is where you are looking to see what build you are running. Yours should have the identical verbage pointed to in this screenshot.

ALB thanks for helping out. I know it seems like I don't know what Im doing but I been playing this game for quite awhile I just had been buying previous versions through Steam because although I always download the game fine I always seem to have issues with patches. The reason I was so confused was because when I clicked on the exe file it downloaded the game like it normally does which made me think it would work like it would ask if a normal install and if I wanted to create shortcuts etc.... and I also know how to see what build Im on and it was STILL saying build 34 but I think my mistake was instead of clicking save I was just clicking run.

I wont be able to find out if its fixed for awhile though. Im at a motel taking my step daughter to move from Missouri to Florida and the DL speed is awful LOL 289KB/s

Oh and the browser is Microsoft Edge

I hope I didn't offend you in any way. That certainly was not my intention. When people online ask for assistance with a computer issue, it can be difficult to answer because I don't know how tech-savvy they are. I just hope it finally upgraded to the latest patch.
