Overlapping buttons on menu - 1280x800 resolution

I just started playing OOTP 21. I am noticing that the way the game looks on my screen is different than most screenshots. Specifically the menu buttons are much closer together and the filter selectors on the top right are overlapping some of the menu options which makes it hard to interact with them.

I also think the top right Continue button is larger and some of the columns like in the Standings table (on screenshot) are truncated with some of the text not showing.

Tried Windowed and Full Screen mode and is the same.

This may just be a matter of my mac being old - mid 2012, 1280x800 resolution. But would like to know if there is anything else?
