In Game Communication with Fellow League Members?

Is there a way to do this? It seems weird that there would not be a way to communicate with other owners in your league, no?

There are links to level specific Discord channels under Main -> Perfect Team Community.

Why add coding complexity to the game when there's a free alternative that can be somewhat integrated?

So Discord....I guess I could get used to it, but I've never seen a more busy and complicated looking forum before. So where do I see my league and fellow owners? Does someone have to set something up on Discord, and if someone did, how would you even tell your fellow owners that something was set up? I don't get it.

At least you can GET to the discord servers. Everytime I try, my browser refuses to open the page. Ahh, life on a Mac....

Having the same trouble. Wonder if installing a different browser would fix this ?

Yea, it's funny, OOTP is a community is made up of insane baseball fans and as great as the game is (not being sarcastic, Id buy all the devs dinner), they ZERO invest in what has mainly been their competitive advantage, people who love baseball.

Little things like a league live-chat and maybe on on the auction house would create deeper roots and ultimately more investment from the fan base.

If I had to guess, the stack they used to build the product is slightly inflexible and that any large changes would have to be custom builds and couldn't really integrate with any existing 3rd party features or plug-ins, so its probaly a resource issue.

I doubt coding would be that difficult. Every mmorpg I’ve played has it. The only issue I see, live chats get down right disgusting. Hopefully we have a better class of people here. A help channel could beneficial, especially for new folks.

It's not that, currently it looks like the whole card system is built on a database table with fancy macros to determine "game results" and a basic frontend interface. Chat functionality would have to be built and integrated from scratch.

There is no plans to add an in-game chat system due to the moderation challenges it presents. We are a small team and you are talking about hundreds of leagues. Virtually impossible to ensure the safety of our users from harassment and trolls.

Discord is great. I discovered it a couple of weeks ago.

If you need help or want to communicate with fellow managers, I recommend going there.
Honestly, it is more active than the forum.

Unfortunately It doesn’t work for Mac users, at least not for me.

It should do. If you go on the Discord website there will be an app for MacOs.
