PBA is Looking for More
Full League Name (Initials): Pinnacle Baseball Association (PBA)
Message Board URL: Boards Website URL: Website Reports URL: Reports OOTP Version: OOTP 21 # Of Teams: 30 Exports: Every three days during season. Every other day in Offseason League Time Per Sim: 7 days Current Season:2024 Offseason Constitution: Constitution StatsPlus:StatsPlus Rules & Settings: The PBA is midway through the 2025 season, the ninth year of a 2017 MLB quickstart..The PBA tries to be as realistic as possible, not taking shortcuts with several things most other leagues don't want to deal with. For example, Scouting is on (Very accurate), coaching is on, drug suspensions are on (suspensions set to very low), injuries are normal, meaning there are a bunch of them, there are overbudget restrictions, and rain outs are on. Scouts create variance in player evaluation, coaches affect development, some players try to bend the rules, some players can't bend their bodies, bosses suck, and sometimes, it rains. These affect baseball in real life, and affect baseball in the PBA. Both leagues use a DH to help mitigate some questionable AI decisions. Ratings are 1-10 Draft picks and recently drafted players can be traded. If a team goes more than $5 million over budget, they have two months to get under or face adjustments to their draft and scouting budgets in future years. Four foreign leagues run in the background. There are cosmetic rewards (nicknames, minor league stadium name changes) for those who are active writers in the league Finally, we use Slack and use StatsPlus to draft. To allow GMs the experience of taking in the full scope of the league, we sim every three days in-season with a faster offseason If you're interested, the league has one opening. Seattle Mariners The Mariners are 59-54, 3rd in a crowded AL West, 1.5 back of the second Wild Card, six back in the division. They have a lot of star power and a good staff, though absentee GMing has resulted in the team being less than the sum of its parts. The team is a little older, but it won its division the two seasons prior, and is set to be a force for a couple more years. PM me or respond in this thread if interested! Really unique and fun league. It runs at a little slower pace, so not overwhelming and it gives you the time to really embrace your role as GM and get to know your team.
Erick is a fantastic commish and spends a lot of time on the league. He and some of the other GM's do frequent write-ups not just on the ML-teams, but also on minor league teams, draft recaps, pre-season predictions and other stuff. It really adds a ton of flavor and history to the league. Top-notch GM's with experience, plenty of Slack banter, active trade discussions, periodic live sims, GM's have a lot of input into how the league is run (Erick does polls at the end of every season to see what could be improved), deep farm systems, and lots of other good stuff. |

I joined last month and so far this league is a blast. IMO it's a great time for a GM to come on board for Arizona - quick swing a few trades and get things situated in your minors right before the Spring Training games begin.
