Standard league with just 3 levels of minors?

This might be a dumb question...but if I'd rather skip the complexity of having a full minors system, is there a suggested way of configuring the game to run with just AAA-AA-A ball? I realize you can delete the leagues you don't want...but I'm wondering if you also need to configure draft a certain way in order for any of them to develop into future ML players?

Appreciate the help!

Probably just half as many rounds. I do 40 rounds for the default mlb/milb setup. And I got about 9 minor league teams. I think most teams have at 7 minor teams. So if you are having 3 teams then maybe 15 round draft with 20 round players created.

I have a fictional 26 team league that only uses AAA, AA, and A.

I do a 12 round amateur draft with feeder leagues only. I set it up to produce enough for 48 rounds. Works well.

Not sure if that answered your question or not.

A couple of things.

1) I was going to do something similar, and the general consensus was that you basically need 5 rounds of draft per level of minor league, plus a couple of extra. So in your case, it would be 15 rounds, plus an extra couple so 17. I did this and it worked okay in terms of the number and quality of players.

2) I can't speak on feeder leagues because I don't use them, but I was not happy with my setup and ended up going back. I play as the Tigers and I actually had AAA, AA, A+, A and A- (or short-season A). I eliminated all of the rookie leagues (DSL, VSL, etc.) but hated how all my recently drafted players - including some 17-year olds right out of HS - had to go to A ball. I also hated trying to manage so many minor league teams, but you might want to consider keeping a rookie league. Or do what I did, get rid of all the existing rookie leagues and create one new one, based on the same divisions as MLB.
