Random Debut
So I'm not quite getting what "Random Debut" is/does....
Does it basically randomize the starting year for every player in the database? So if I start a league in 1917, could Mario Lemieux, Wayne Gretzky or Sidney Crosby conceivably show up as draftees in 1918? How about if I started a historical season in 1967 with Random Debut? Georges Vezina could show up as a teenager in the 1968 entry draft? I just downloaded the game and want to make sure of the setting before I start a new game....I hate starting a game and then realizing I screwed up a setting after I finish a season....lol Also when I click on the setting, the Draft/Generate Rookies at 17 and Set Initial Rosters by Draft options disappear? Yes.
Yes. Yes. Because Initial Rosters by Draft turns it into a fantasy mode. Draft/Generate Rookies let them come in during a normal year, and not to pre-determined teams. |

While I would dearly love to be able to create a custom league with various historical teams (understanding that the difference in roster sizes between the early and late 20th century teams would be a major issue), this is definitely a great substitute for that.
I started a historical game in 1967 with Random Debut, and some of the 17 and 18 year olds coming up for drafting include Rocket Richard, Phil Esposito, Daniel Sedin (but not Henrik, lol), Pete Mahovolich, & Ace Bailey. That's offset a little by having a 39 year old Paul Coffey & 34 year old Gordie Howe, but you can't have everything! Thanks for including this option! |
