International Free Agents & Complex
I am playing a standard MLB game with all leagues loaded. I just signed a 5 star potential (OSA) on my team. He's only 16 and grades out for 60 Infield Range, 65 Infield Error, 65 Infield Arm, and 55 Turn DP
My question is how should I develop him going forward? I'm playing as the Rockies and have Story and Arenado (fully intend to keep him after his opt-out year) so my plan was to develop him strictly as a 2B. However, knowing that eventually Story and Arenado will leave/retire do I train him at 3B and SS? Is it possible to have him train at all 3; 3B,SS,and 2B without having to continuously switch his position? My second question is, do I immediately promote him to the lowest level of minors or do I keep him in my complex until we graduates? What do you guys do? Thanks in advance! |

Keep him there til he's at least 18 and just see which position he improves most at over those two years. By the time he is in the upper levels of the minors, you will have a better idea which position you need to fill, so just force the minor league managers to play him there. If he does live up to that potential, you will be good.

I would promote him immediately. I also would lock him and force start his role. Then micro his roles and promotions.
I get prospects trained everywhere they have defense ratings at. Oh my 2b has outfield ratings then I'm going to train him while he is going everywhere. If he does own out he can play everywhere if he doesn't get looks great in a trade. |
