Pitching Fielding Experience ratings for non-pitchers
After bringing this up on the Historical Database board, it was suggested that I should bring it up here instead. It appears that, when importing individual players directly from the database, any position player that pitched at all at any point in their career is given an Experience rating of 100 at pitcher throughout their career.
As an example, I recently imported the 1929 season of Lew Fonseca (fonsele01), using the standard three-year fielding rating calculation, and he appeared with a 100 rating despite only pitching a single inning in 1932, two years outside the three-year window. Historical Czar Spritze tells me that this is not an issue with that database, and there are many similar examples that I've seen. So, what gives? |

Oh come on!
OK, so 1931 Ben Chapman imports with 100 pitcher fielding experience (108 rating) despite not appearing as a pitcher until FREAKIN' 1944.
Insane. |
