Now What??
So I'm new to PT this year and have been loving it. Spent a little money at the beginning and was lucky enough to pull a Bonds Peak. Sold it and have been living off that for the last two weeks. Now that I'm done with all the live missions and exhausted most of the PPs in that process, I'm at a crossroads of what to do next. It doesn't seem like any further investment will get me much better cards than the SEs I already have (and I'm no whale by any stretch of imagination) and the thought of ripping packs to just get mostly dupe iron/bronze live cards doesn't make much sense. I'm been playing mostly bronze and iron tourneys since the pack rewards are almost identical to the higher level tourneys so even those have become a little monotonous as well. I love the concept of PT and want to keep being engaged, any suggestions on what I should do next? are there mid-season wrinkles (packs, tourneys, etc) that I can look forward to?

Like you, I pulled a huge card early, sold it and had 450k to rip packs, then complete the missions. I am also in the same boat of looking to see what is there to look forward to. If we had a baseball season, at least we could manage our borderline cards as they rise/fall based on irl performance.
I'm still having a good time building specific teams in the tourney but feel in a week or so I'll be asking your same questions.

There are other good missions besides the live ones. I'd encourage you to look over the list, work out the prices and see what you can find.
If you're awash in PP, I'd also recommend looking to build rosters for some of the most expensive tourney formats. The natural build order is something like iron -> bronze -> silver -> gold or cap (or both), where at each stage you can use pieces from your lower rarity tournaments while you're working up to the next level. The more expensive tournaments, especially cap, tend to have really awesome rewards so it's worth working up to those. EDIT: Also, with the possible exceptions of Maddux, Yaz, Ichiro, Bagwell, Yogi, and maybe Lyons, there are LOTS of upgrades over the SE cards you can find for not-much-more-PP. If you think SE Tulo, Winfield, Blyleven, Randy, and Carlton are going to take you to a title in Diamond, you're probably just wrong.

Reminder: only 47 more weeks to go.
Foot off the gas. If you've a spare team slot, build a slow-grow team. Fool around with a no-pressure-to-win theme team. Experiment with a really unusual strategy. Shoot for a 100% collection. Leave your "main" in hibernation for a while and build a junior team up. Learn, record, and publish. Stream or video. Or my favorite, analyze the living crap out of all your teams and players. Dig into the history. Last edited by Lemandria; 04-26-2020 at 09:50 AM. |

No one said bored so don't jump to conclusions....just wondering what other areas to focus on that makes sense and not wasting PPs. Being new, I didn't even know people made different teams (do you register using a different email and just log in and out?)
I've thought about trying out different cap tourneys, but the dailies that have card rewards (rather than just the RPKs) fill up so fast I'm not sure it's worth me wasting tourney spots for days to just "try it out". I'll figure it out. Thank you to those that have provided real input. |

You can build three teams with one license.... Yes you need different email address per team. That said, trying to build a competitive team is always a good goal... missions are just one area of the game, you can try and trade to improve, or build and focus on a killer theme team for tournaments to get those unique cards or simply help build your main team.

I was in the same boat as you. This is my first attempt at PT, and on my first team I've completed over 40 missions and don't see the rewards on most of the current ones make them worth spending real money on.
I started a 2nd team that is going to be packs only. I managed to pull 3 golds early on and sold them off. I've got a team that's going deep in iron tourneys and will start league play tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'll do a 3rd team, but there's a long time to go.
