A place for my stuff
Apologies in advance for the complete lack of organization. I've been throwing these things together for longer than I can remember now (probably only a couple years, but I have a short memory) and I never really kept track of which of the thousands of logos, caps, jerseys, etc. were actually mine, so I'm kind of just going to post them as I either remember them or stumble onto them.
Martinsville Astros (1999) Remember these guys? No? Well they played in the Single-A Appalachian League for all of four years before dropping off the face of the earth (by which I mean moving to Greeneville), so I can't say I'm terribly surprised. Those of you that do remember this team might not remember that their very brief lifespan overlapped with a major identity change of their parent team by exactly one year, which means we actually get TWO sets of graphics! Yay!! First, the 1999 team. I didn't make any jerseys for this one, because as far as I could tell the home jersey was identical to Houston's, and I either couldn't find a picture of the away jersey or just couldn't find the script. Either way, all I got are logos and caps. The white outline on the cap logo is technically incorrect, but the alternative was a pixelated monstrosity and I wasn't about to inflict that on myself or anyone else. |

Martinsville Astros (2000-2003)
If you are familiar with the Martinsville Astros, this is probably the look that you remember. I have included two small logos here because I play on OOTP 20, and for some reason OOTP 20 insists on making light-skin logos completely unreadable no matter what I do. Logos & Caps: |

If the home jersey looks oddly familiar, that's because I didn't make it; as far as I could tell, there were no changes to the home jersey between Martinsville 2003 and Greeneville 2004, and justafan happens to have already made a really good Greeneville 2004 home jersey. So I just went with that, made the away jersey myself, and called it a day.

Los Angeles Royals: The meme is real, ladies and gentlemen.
This wasn't supposed to work. Like I know the Royals are the midwest Dodgers, ha ha ha, but I threw this together knowing full well that something was going to trip me up. The font colors would clash, the LA cap logo wouldn't look right with the KC identity . . . it never happened. I literally just copy/pasted the LA road script onto the KC road uniform and it looked as if it had always belonged there. (I also did some stuff with the shoulder patches but who really pays attention to those.) Hell, with the NHL's Kings playing nearby, this is actually kind of a believable LA baseball identity if you're doing a world where the Dodgers stayed in Brooklyn or something else along those lines. Anyway, credit to justafan for the original jerseys, and OOTP for the LA cap that I straight-up stole without making any changes, and I am so very sorry for making you all live in a world where this exists. |

Nashua Pride
Behold, my local team. Or at least it was, anyways, before they left in 2009. I never actually went to see them play; the only time I ever went to Holman Stadium, it was for this exhibition that Bill Lee (yes, the Spaceman himself) and Oil Can Boyd were putting on, and they did some lessons for little leaguers like myself, it was a great time. Again, never actually saw the Pride play there, but since the ballpark is about a 15 minute drive from my house, I guess that technically qualifies Nashua as my local team. (Now I have seen the Fisher Cats play up in Manchester a bunch of times, but that team's been pretty well documented here so I'll leave them alone for now. Maybe one day I'll do the Primaries if they haven't been done already.) But I digress. From what photos I could find, the Pride had two home jerseys: one with blue piping, and one without. A lack of photos made it impossible for me to determine when they switched over from one to the other (or if in fact they were just two variants on the same uniform worn at about the same time), so I just kind of guesstimated it at 2005. I couldn't find a usable away script, so I'm afraid it's just home jerseys for now, but I believe someone posted a fictional away jersey here somewhere that wasn't too far off the mark. I think that's also where I got the cap from. |

San Francisco Seals (SFGiants58's Defunct Saga)
If you thought there was going to be any sort of consistent theme to this thread, THINK AGAIN! I threw this one together eons ago because neither Defunct Saga thread had gotten around to the Seals, though I do remember somebody on here putting up one of the home alternate uniforms and a logo. In any case, feel free to repost this stuff to one of the existing Defunct Saga threads, or improve on them yourself. Even if this wasn't already piggy-backing on other people's work (and again, I cannot stress enough that it is), I'm very much of the "remix culture" mindset when it comes to intellectual property: that the whole goshdarn point of putting out work like this is for other people to improve upon it and do new things with it. I get the impression that this board's stance on the issue is at least somewhat similar, but a lot of my prior experience has been in the NR2003 community, where the attitude towards using other people's work is... shall we say, different. I just want to cover my bases. Anyway, here you go, New York Giants fans. Take this, and be safe in the knowledge that the city of San Francisco will be in good hands after you bring your team home. You know, all three of you that were around when the Giants headed west. Better late than never, I suppose. |
