Steam or Not

Do more people buy this game outside of Steam?

Dosent seem like a huge number of Steam players, im assuming mods etc are all compatible by using Steam?

Ive not lost out on stuff by getting it via Steam this year?

I've been on Steam since 18. The mods still work they are just manual install jobs as opposed to something like steam workshop. there were a couple of users who made stuff for the workshop last year but nowhere near the number of modders here on the forum.

i would probably guess and say a lot of people by the stand alone edition. a large portion of the user base aren't gamers and ootp might be there only "video game" and can also be from older generations so they kind of stay away from steam.

me as a gamer with 20-30 games a year I want all my games to be on a store front. as I upgrade my computers several times each year and it makes it simpler to reinstall anything I am currently playing.

you know steam/epic/gog.

plus steam automatically installs update and ootp is updated fairly regularly. so that is easier.

only thing the stand alone version gets a 3 day beta period each year so it launches 3 days before official release date. that doesn't happen on steam. thats the only thing you can "lose" out on.

mods just take an extra step or 2. but the standalone guys cant really get the workshop stuff and there was some nice workshop stuff last year. unless those modders uploaded here in the forums too. that i'm not sure about.

Steam Or OOTP

I would say Steam only If you prefer It.The updates on steam are also automatically installed. But the Mods are not that easy to create for steam. Mods are also a lot less on steam then on here as well.

Personally I prefer steam on only certain games but for OOTP Baseball I probably would buy It on here not steam. But you need to be the Judge.

"older generation" I've been buying the product since the retail version was called Season Ticket Baseball (OOTP2) so I guess that's my demographic at this point. Bummer.
