Tigers are only hard to rebuild if you are trying to reload rather than rebuild. The Cabrera contract doesn't get in the one one bit if you're patient and build through the draft and the occasional smart FA signing. by Year 3 of a Tigers save, at least 3 to 4 members of your starting rotation should be very solid and all making league min.
I've played as the Tigers a couple time and am usually a WS contender by season 5. Tank hard the first 2-3 seasons. That will give you high draft picks the first 3-4 drafts. Sign IAFA aggressively. Sign the worst cheap FAs you can, to ensure 100 loss seasons. and watch for the occasional random young good FA, usually ends up being Betts, Baez and Boegarts in my games. Sign them to at least 6 year deals so you get the back half of their deals when it matters. They are young enough to still help you then
