Free agency compensation

If you sign a type A free agent to a Minor league deal with major league option.

1 - do you lose a pick

2 - do they gain a pick

3 - when the player is promoted , do u lose a pick or they gain a pick

Also

Once said player is signed and has no options , can you invite him to ST and then send him back down for opening day?

I don’t want to call him up if I can’t send him down, want the depth for the season.
