High Getting Hits+Oustanding Hitting Coach=Hitting Crap Festival

I don't understand the logic of the game. When I have players who have an 8 or above in getting hits paired with an Outstanding hitting coach, why oh why would they be hitting .275? It makes no sense to me. I didn't have one player hit over .300 last season (Or the previous 5 for that matter) yet I have many players with 5s, 6s, and 8s in their getting hits statistics. What gives? Is there some setting I'm missing? (They also all have comparable drawing BBs stats)

You might have the league totals set to level that would cause your league to have lower averages. Check the league averages to see if they are lower than the norm.

Also, what kind of park do you play in. Park factors could lower your averages. Many of the MLB parks with other names included with the game really knock down averages, such a Safeco (Seattle Stadium or whatever).

autarkis33 has pointed out the two most likely possibilities. You can check out the league totals issue pretty easily by looking at the stats for the whole league. Does the whole league have depressed batting averages, or just you?

Two other possiblities come to mind:
1) Your scout could be wrong in those batting ratings.

2) A few players, season after season, never seem to play up to their ratings. Maybe you are cursed with more than your share of such guys.

The scouting part could be correct as my scout is only OK at scouting hitting, I'm playing in what's now called Petco park, and was called Qualcomm stadium.
