Steam + Linux OOTP Won't Start

Hi,

Clicking 'Play' in Steam results in a problem where the game won't open.

I did a bit of digging, and found `ootp20.sh`. Running this produces the following:

rm: cannot remove '/home/jackson/.steam/steam': Is a directory
rm: cannot remove '/home/jackson/.steam/bin': Is a directory
Running Steam on ubuntu 18.10 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Pins up-to-date!

Error, unable to continue...

Starting Steam client...

Looking at some previous techniques to address this, it was noted that perhaps I should close steam, then run ootp20.sh. Doing this produces the same error, but with a lot of other messages about opening the steam client.

System information:

lsb_release -a:
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 18.10
Release: 18.10
Codename: cosmic

Is there any recommended fix for this?

I am also have continual crashes from Steam on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6
