Los Ángeles Ángeles de Los Ángeles

As usual while working on something else I had an idea... what if Arte Moreno had redesigned his new team based on the LA city flag colors instead of whatever they used?

The green and red in the flag are in turn supposed to be throwbacks to LA's origins as part of New Spain and then Mexico beginning in 1769. And yes, the thread title is the full translation of the current team name, which in English would be The Angels Angels of The Angels. On the sportslogos boards SFGiants58 made a Los Angeles A's set like this, again using the city flag as inspiration. I'm pretending they actually moved into LA County, which of course would have helped this whole thing make sense.

On the main jerseys and logos, the change from blue to green is subtle but I think it looks nice, an interesting change from their current red and blue set, one of 5,000 of those color sets in MLB. The city flag appears on the right shoulder. The alt caps came out ugly, but the green ones looked too much like the A's so I went with gold. Anyway, try them out if you are tired of the Angels' unis.

"Los Ángeles Ángeles de Los Ángeles" is the best possible version of the Angels team name and it is impossible to convince me otherwise.

Also this is a really nice set, well done. :P

Oh and Giovanni, if this doesn't turn out to be the Angels version of those Nike city sets, like the blue and yellow Red Sox ones, I'm going to be sorely disappointed. Great job!

They are nowhere near ugly enough for that! :P

I don't know where you get 3 "Angels" from. In Spanish it's Los Ángeles de Los Ángeles. You don't just add and extra word to it, for example the Chicago Cubs is Los Cachorros de Chicago, not Los Chicago Cachorros de Chicago.

I know Spanish, it's a joke. Just like "The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" idea. A spoets radio host here used to call them "The Anaheim Angels of Orange County Near the John Wayne Airport and Disneyland but Nowhere Near Los Angeles". :P
