Trade deadline
I'm in the month of September in the season I'm playing, way past the trading deadline, yet every day there are players listed on the trading block that you cannot possibly trade for. What am I missing here?

You're not missing anything. It's likely just a case of it being much more complicated to code the game to remove the players from the trading block for 6-8 weeks and then put them back on as soon as the offseason starts. Plus, you can change the rules to allow trading all year long, which would make the trading block relevant the entire year.
What does bother me is the e-mails in September stating that Player X is demanding a trade. OK, maybe that's not totally unrealistic as he could be saying he wants to be traded in the offseason. But then you check his contract and find out he becomes a free agent after the season. |

Also, if you are playing with the traditional non-waiver trade deadline which allows for trades after the deadline but through a complicated waiver process, then it isn't necessarily impossible to trade for these players. Just very difficult.
(Edit: And I probably should have added that if you trade for them after August 31st, they will not be eligible for a post-season roster spot.) Last edited by BirdWatcher; 08-09-2019 at 10:01 AM. |
