Anyone use a lot of different cards?

I just checked and back in 2020 (in bronze), I used 56 players (36 batters and 20 pitchers). Don't ask me why.

I don't think I've made a single change in a month as far as roster moves on my team in perfect.

Since there's no injuries in PT, no. I will make a few changes every year, but it would surprise me if I got more than 35 players per team per season in there on a regular basis.

Hmm....how'd you check? Did you save it? Or do I not know how to access past seasons stats?

My 41 so far is just batters this year, I guess because if I'm not setting an ideal lineup, which I decided not to do for at least this week, I figured I'd entertain myself with different combinations and changes against certain pitchers & teams set different lineups, maybe I'll learn something (or be unlucky), but when the boxscores & replays come back I'm enjoying the variety. Kind of have the best pitching I can set as is for the most part, though.

Makes it less frustrating to get the lower-rated cards in packs as well. Kind of crazy to do on the perfect level with some of the wow good teams as faar as W-L but if I get a chance to rotate in some of my best cards against those teams, I do. And Rey Ordonez or Luke Maille or Ronald Torreyes will be de-activated for at least 14 days.

Outside the pitching staff, I have 3 regulars right now.

I've made a ton more changes and used more cards in the lower levels. There are lots of small upgrades to be had then that aren't too costly.

Once you're past Gold more or less, the tinkering slows considerably.

Sometimes, I change my line-up just to see what will happen. If I win...I stick with it. If I lose, I try something else. God help, I hate it when my starters are hitter .185. No Mendoza Line operatives allowed!

I saved stuff from both the sortable stats page plus from the team pages as well so I just checked that.

I pretty much did the same thing for the same reasons as what you mentioned. In fact, that's what I miss about the lower levels. In perfect, I can't change nearly as much, lest the team perform poorly.

I agree, I don't think I can tolerate sub-mendoza for much longer than 40 AB.

Mmmhmm...I am making the changes for this week for 2 reasons. 1, I put a lot into making the team better for 2 + months, and I could use a week off from taking that part business-like & serious, and 2, it's more fun.

I started out trying to upgrade.
Then it just wasn't fun for me.

So I accumulate ALOT of cards BZ, S, G.
I like trying different combinations, strategies with no real aspirations of going GOLD.

There is alot of satisfaction watching BZ Wayne Granger 60, save a game against stacked lineup of gold.

For some reason basic things like historical RL splits are not available and talked about

They do have real life statistics with the player's card.

Yeah, I know what you mean, it is sometimes frustrating to have expectations not met and you do that when you play strictly to win out, (can only be upset if that's your sole goal)… but to simply play better than .500 is a realistic challenge for anyone playing...


I think got to watch total time playing because it's a strain on your being after awhile. (the sitting, managing the team). I've frozen up a few times., Other than that, it's fun.

Final PA & wOBA, 2030...My substitution place slowed down and Suzuki, …& Biggio became semi-regulars...No one close to a full year for an injury-free team except Gehrig & Joe Jackson, though.

I find I use a lot of players early on in my pack team when there are a lot of bronzes contending for positions. After that, not so much because an average silver or gold usually outperform an average bronze. So once I open enough silver and gold, then the roster is rather stale until I luck into another silver or gold player.

For theme team, as I am playing F2P, I dare not to do a lot of changes due to money issue. I would be switching themes all around if I can afford it. I do want to try out all sort of weird stuffs, and see how each players play but without the PP to get many players, it's hard to achieve that. Also, 3 teams are just not enough for me to fulfill my every fantasy, which is sad and I am too frugal to get a second license.

For my experimental team, that one I am constantly rotating depending on what I want to experiment.

That's exactly what I've seen with my packs-only team. The first couple of seasons I would go in at the halfway point of the season and sub 5 or 6 guys out - because they were all bronzes and I was trying to find someone who'd actually, you know, hit!

Now, since I've gotten quite a few better cards, I don't do that as much - save for my relievers, who all degenerated into bronzes this year, and my 5th starter. Actually, I just opened a pack on Sunday and got a new 5th starter - 74 OVR Jerry Koosman. Let's hope he does better than the last 10 or so guys who I've stuck there!

I dont make as many changes in season like I did weeks ago. But season to season I like to change it up. This season I'm focusing on lots of right handed batting and top end defense. Last year it was power bats and moderate defense
