Question - Real history to a point, then fictional
Is there a way to import full history to a point (1994 strike) and then have it be fictional from there forward?
I tried to create a historical game, but I didn't see an option to make it fictional after loading the full history... |

Fictional in what respect? Do you want fictional teams, league structure, players....all of these can be done.

If you're in career mode and you don't import historical rookies the game will create fictional draft classes and international free agents/discoveries. After enough seasons the guys who were in the league in '94 will have retired and the rosters will be comprised of these fictional players.

If you disable "automatic league evolution" that will prevent the Expos from moving to DC and the Rays & Diamondbacks from appearing. Everything that happens after 1994 would be all up to you.

ok, I think I found it - thanks for your help!
had to go into advanced mode, then rules, then disable automatic creation of free agents and draft class |

In the game setup page/historical tab, it's the "Automatically import historical rookies" setting that you want, I think.

Only disable automatic creation of free agents, do not disable the draft class.

Well either way, you want the Amateur Draft, just don't import real rookies.
