Auction Question

If you put a player on the auction block he is removed from the roster. If no one buys him or you cancel the auction he is placed on the reserve roster and he has to wait to be moved to the active roster. IMHO this is silly. You are being punished for trying to sell a player.

Can you imagine in real MLB the coach telling a player that he can't play for a few days because we are trying to trade you.

Can someone explain the logic behind this?

What if the item sells when you are away from your computer and you are away with an invalid roster or a big hole on your roster? It's a safety mechanism for both the game and you IMO.

It was done to eliminate an exploit used to circumvent the 14-day waiting period by putting the player on the AH and then pulling him back.

I still don't get it. Having 24 people on your roster is not going to create a big hole. If a team does not have a SS designated then I would think the AI would bring in a different player to fill that spot.

But why put him in the reserve roster and make you wait to play him again?

I put a guy on the auction and he did not sell in 12 hours so I took him off. He was a 80+ rated pitcher and I did not want to go that long without him so I sold him. (this actually worked out, as I bought a pack with the grand I got for him and ended up getting a better player in the pack)

So people can't just take their tired players, move them to the reserve roster and then move then back one game later.

I understand that, but my question is why they get sent to the reserve when they are put on the auction block and do not get bought?

And even moving them to the reserve because they are tired they will still be tired in the reserve...

It's the same reason. Otherwise you could just throw them on the auction house for a ridiculous price to swap in for someone else, then cancel the auction and add them back in with no penalty.
