Does anybody know if I get a second license direct from OOTP if it will conflict with my Steam version? I can open a second Steam account but I would rather give Markus all the money this time.

You'll be fine, I did the same thing without issue. If you register more PT teams, you'll just have to be sure you're signed onto the right one when you do. Once registered, it doesn't matter which one you use to play from.

Thanks, somebody here has whetted my appetite for a Ranger team. I think I can stand the futility that will be present with the poor pitching. I will just have to try to bash like the 90's Rangers.

I was watching that game on TV. I never laughed so hard at a baseball game except in the movie Major League.

It works perfect, just like you said. I will start my Strangers on Monday.

I had all three installs of PT19 on the same computer (steam, eseller, and origin).

Just one recommendation, try to ensure that they are installed to separate folders. The Steam install is likely to end up in the regular steam folder but the one from the ootp website is perfect for an installation in your own folder (like c:\games\ootp20).

You may need to copy your facegen files and logos to all the different installs but that does not take long.
The stand-alone version has its files in its sub-directory while some of the other installs may have them in your user|Documents sub-folder.

OOTP is pretty robust when it comes to handling the various installs.

Also, you don’t actually need to use two software copies. Once you have created your new teams and all is good to go, you can just login from a single installation and just use that one for everything.

In other words, I use one install for all our accounts. Just the initial stage may require a second software license to create team 4-6. But afterwards, you can use one copy (whichever one you prefer) to log in and out of all the accounts.

Hey now, don’t steal all my Rangers cards!

To get my second license I purchased a copy directly from OOTP. Installed it, created my three other teams, and I have never opened it since. I use the Steam version now, I just cycle through the logins with no issues.

This is going to be one tough challenge… (very cool that you are giving it a go)

You will be happy with your catching (Ivan + Sundberg) but
SS looks to become a retrained Buddy Bell and Harrah and ARod taking two more infield spots.

I can't even imagine what you will do about your SP spots. This is going to be very tough and will require some ballpark adjustments to stay afloat.

Keep us in the loop how this works out....

I've got a Rangers team that's finally doing ok ... in Iron. Promotion is possible.

The starting rotation is Sele, Wilson, Donovan, Cheney, and Darvish. Yeah, pretty ugly.

I'm still saving for A Rod and gold Pudge and haven't gotten Kinsler yet (I'm playing Beltre at 2nd for now). Have lots of corner OF (Burroughs, Hamilton, Gonzalez, Gallo, Sierra) but nobody to play CF except Beniquez.

They hit a lot of homers. Think I should crank the HR factor up and see if they can outslug their opponents? Hadn't thought about that.

Interesting dilemma...do you help your team (more HR) or try to help your pitchers, who are not very strong in Movement and at preventing HRs.

Personally, I try to focus on my strength.

A fun challenge to make that team successful.

I am thinking that trying to crank the home runs is about the best chance. It is frightening though to think about what Ranger pitchers might give up in a HR park,

I bought this second copy direct from OOTP Thursday too and made a test team. It is perfect loading through my Steam interface. I have not tried vice versa though because all my other teams from 19 and 20 are on Steam so I am used to logging in that way.

When is the ideal day and time to start a new team?

Monday morning - you sit in the Entry Pool for an entire week (and IIRC, play around 300 games)..

That is my plan. Monday morning as soon as the leagues go up, I will start my Ranger theme team. Years ago we older fans jokingly called them the Strangers so that is what I will name this team.

It's fun to climb the ladder and Iron has a boatload of OL teams to play against.
