No playoffs?
I just played through a 2019 regular season, using pre-order modern MLB and when the season ended there is no playoffs. The off-season began instead. Any tips?

Not sure what "pre order modern MLB" is but if you did a standard MLB quick start and didn't change any options then I don't know how you ended up with no playoffs. Who was determined as the champion of the league?

got a backup from before end of season? if not, probably nothing you can do about it until next year.
review league settings - > options? all those tabs.. ensure there is a playoff enabled. by default, like stated above, it is enabled. you'd have to do something to cause it not to be. an accidental click, maybe? |

Thanks for seeking clarification.
Yes, I meant the MLB Quick start. Yes, I have a backup before the end of the season. No, I didn't mess with any settings. I tried it again and the same thing happened. October plays out with no games and then the off-season begins. No MLB playoffs, no champion. The Minor leagues have their playoffs though. UPDATE: New quick starts work fine so something went wrong with the original file. Thats what I get for going all in on a pre-order beta quick start. Last edited by jerheme; 04-13-2019 at 03:09 PM. |

if you don't want to restart, you can reload that back up and force soem playoffs.
first, ensure that they are enabled and/or customized as you want then, check event list (drawing blank on exact location, check manual) add a 'playoff begins' event, if it is missing. after that, advance beyond regular season, again. if still no series scheduels, go to options and schedule some 7-game series for each matchup. now, whether or not it is a year 1 only problem, may make this not very helpful. if you have to do this each year, probably better to restart. could zoom out and check too. 1 year isn't usually so much to restart for most, but maybe you really like what happened, and it is worth it for you. |

I tried adding a new playoff event, and it seems like it should have worked. But adding playoff begins events do not trigger anything. Its really weird. In fact, I summed out to see what would happen the following season and they don't even play games the following year. I think my .lg file is a dud. Thanks for the help!

You probably have to reload schedule during the preseason. Maybe load one of the default schedule templates.
Something sounds like it got borked |

yeah, just throw it out and start again, since you know the problem doesn't persist in new leagues.
you'd have to schedule 7-gams for each matchup by hand... and no guarantee you don't have to do that next year too. was this in one of the patch notes? |
