The Blue Jays started off their spring schedule with a nice 3-1 win over the White Sox. It was good to see Nolan Ryan in top form after all that time missed with injury last year. WP - Nolan Ryan (1-0) Save - John Simmons (1) LP - Larry White (0-1) Spring Record - 1-0

What an anticlimactic way to end a great game! Paul Mirabella unloaded a wild pitch to allow Miguel Serna to score to give Toronto a 1-0, walk-off, 11 inning win over the Mariners. WP - Antonio Gonzalez (1-0) LP - Paul Mirabella (0-1) Spring Record - 2-0

It turns out that John Godwin just has a tight hamstring. A few days rest will take care of it.

8th inning homers by Bill Johnson and Eiichi Hasegawa turned this game around for Toronto as the Jays beat the Red Sox 4-2. Both Joseph Prost and Jay Howell were forced out of the game. With Prost it looks very minor. We await word on Howell. WP - Manny Hernandez (1-0) LP - Allan Anderson (0-1) Spring Record - 7-1

TRADE
To DODGERS Dusty Baker Greg Brown Doug Flores Tim Wells To BLUE JAYS Mike Krukow (LAD retains small amount of salary) Jack Ross Clyde Harrison Burt McKnight Mike Beck While we liked the veteran presence of Dusty, the chance to add Krukow to an already solid rotation was too much to pass up. Krukow joins the camp. The rest go to the minor league camp. First round of Spring Cuts Sent to the minor league camp: Robinson Lopez Jesus Garcia Carlos Diaz Chris James Designated for Assignment: Ronn Reynolds Once we reacquired Domingo Bruno, it was clear that Reynolds had limited use for the Jays.

We finally got a prognosis on Jay Howell.
He has a torn triceps. He is expected back in mid-late May. Daniel Peters will likely be used as our closer until he gets back. David Wells is called up from minor league camp.

Robin Yount's sore elbow is going to leave him on light duty for about a week.
Ronn Reynolds cleared waivers and is being assigned to Stratford, in A-ball.

Brian Fisher had a mild hamstring strain. He is fine and will miss no time.
