Playoff Formats Question
I was trying to create a new league with 2 leagues each with 3 divisions of 8 teams each, and I wanted to make a very specific playoff format but couldn't figure out how. It'd basically be like the current MLB playoffs but with 4 wild cards who would play in a 4 team playoff for the one spot against the top division winner. Like this:
SERIES A (1 Game): WC1 WC4 SERIES B (1 Game): WC2 WC3 SERIES C (3 Games): Winner A Winner B Playoffs (5-7-7 games): Division Winner 1 Winner C Division Winner 2 Division Winner 3 When I try to create a custom playoff scenario for this, it only lets me have 4 rounds and not the 5 rounds that I would need. Is there any way to do this? |

Unfortunately, while double-byes are normally possible, the number of overall byes can't change. With 7 teams per subleague, only 1 can have a bye.

That's the case with the playoff system OOTP currently uses, at any rate. If it ever adopted the playoff system I have in mind, you could recreate playoff format easily (as well as pretty much any other playoff format you can imagine).
Well, actually, you'd probably have to get someone else to create the file for that particular playoff scenario, but it wouldn't be all that hard. |

all they need is a checkbox to allow custom bracket editting...
if we could assign multiple byes, and set up the bracket on our own, it'd be easy to do. in this case need to add 2 first week "games" so that 3 teams get a bye. sure, someone could make a completely unuseable bracket, but that's on them, lol. the basics included cover 99% of users i'm sure. so only the motivated would be doing it anyway and likely know what they want and how to do it. |
