Perfect points?

I see cards in the auction section going for 5000 and even 10,000 points.

Where are people getting points from?

Since the initial packs I opened when starting my team, I've earned just over 1,000 points. Enough to open only one 1k pack.

Does it show that someone has bid on it, or only that that is the price? It is possible people could buy them if they've had some good achievements or pulled a diamond or perfect from packs and auto sold them for pp, but most of those cards are probably getting put up there and no one is actually bidding on them.

There was a perfect Dimaggio card up earlier today with a price of 30k.

I saw that one. Why would someone even sell that? It's priceless. Whatever they buy with the PP they earn, nothing would be as good as that card.

It's like an art collector selling the Mona Lisa so he can buy 10 mediocre paintings.

To the OP, the best players are constantly on the market like day traders I think. Just working the market while so many people are buying cards. I'm not sure that they'll make money that easily once a league has settled down.

If they sell that 1 Dimaggio, they will most likely end up with a number of diamond and gold cards that will in total help out their team more than just having Dimaggio.

different strategies for different people

some people will want to collect the rarest cards possible, others will want to build a full strong team as fast as possible

some will use the auction market frequently, others will rely on buying packs

It's also Beta. That card is going to disappear in less than a month. Better to sell it and fill your team out across the board. One perfect player does not a successful team make.

Nobody probably bought it because no-one has any PP (yet).

My favorite so far was someone trying to sell an 80- or 90-something for 10,000,000. It was made even more comical by being up at the same time as the 30,000 DiMaggio.
