Yearly Card Idea: Feedback Welcome

One thing I'd always imagined with NHL HUT and Diamond Dynasty is taking every player that has ever played in the recorded history of Major League Baseball and releasing cards based on each player's performance in a given year as a set from 1871-present. That way, you have what is essentially way too many cards but you also have many versions of players that can be notable to one person or another for any reason. For example: if you really like 2000 Jason Kendall or 1964 Yogi Berra you can collect that card or all of the versions of a player. I admit that last part is an excuse for me to collect every year Rob Mackowiak played. Perhaps with the plethora of baseball card design templates for various years that we have collected from the community we could make this happen.

One of the concerns that I have with this method is that I worry it could really stagnate the PT card universe. I suppose additionally that it would be a nightmare for people who try to collect everything. Certainly it would be too much content but I want to see what everyone else thinks.

Yup. Way too much content. You need to give users the chance to complete the collection, and anything > 3000 cards would be too much IMO.

That's what I figured but I'd float the idea just in case. I suppose this is what random debut historical is for

I somehow have a feeling that my team ERA would be somewhere near league bottom, but I'd be willing to do it.
