Does a player know he's being shopped?

Do players know if they are involved in trade talks? Any effect on morale?

Yeah if you shop a player they take a hit to 'role on team'(think it's that one specifically).

It's kind of an outdated/isolated feature imo. If moving guys in the lineup, or offering them terrible contracts, or trading players that they have chemistry with had a similar effect it'd be cool.

A lot of times I'll use the editor to revert the players morale after shopping them.

Where they take a hit is under transactions. If you play in Commissioner mode you can always edit this back to what it originally was.

Why not disable the system?

I don't know if this is true or not, but have also noticed it seems like "they get over it" relatively quickly (in terms of the hit) during the times of year you would expect to be shopping players. Again, not sure that statement is true as i) I have not done any stats on it, and ii) very small sample size. Just interesting.

I have noticed in April and May there seems to be a big hit in morale and in performance when you shop them.

dabears, if it's a good environment sure.

remember teh description of how this stuff works... drips in a bucket based on various factors and the sum total is all that matters.

maybe shopping him drops him from content to unhappy at that particular moment, but as long as you have a good team chemistry and morale, then stuff is generally trending upward, otherwise. (maybe they don't like you trading someone else too etc... not limited to this situation for the temporarry 1-time negative hit stuff, but each day it's slowly ticking back "up")

so, if you have a "good" environemnt, any negative effect is temporary, even if it visibly knocks them down to the next happiness level.. no big deal in this situation. a big deal if you have a rancid environment and bad team chemistry (if related, but defintieyl morale stuff)
