Bryce Love went to class. How dare he !!!!
I'm not linking to the article because I don't want such a self-serving, self-absorbed opinion from a baboon who has an obviously over-exaggerated opinion on his job's importance to get a bunch of views.
But this fool has the unmitigated gall to complan about Bryce Love not being available to be interviewed in person because he wanted to attend class. So he made himself available by skype. So no, he didn't blow off the press conference. He still answered questions. He just wasn't there to look the media in the eye. This is, according to him, a dangerous precedent and goes to the core of why the Pac12 has a lesser status than the SEC. Because, once more according to him, the Pac12's college presidents put too much emphasis on education. Dude is a prime example of an ..................

Yes, this fellow should "burro" his way into some "hole in the ground" and stay there!
(I know these are not the allusions that you intended but this is a family forum. )Look, you did right by not linking to his article. One of the worst drawbacks of the internet is that it gives a platform of speech to everybody. Everybody and his stupid brother has something to say. When it's done freely (such as what I am doing here ) it's bad enough. But when it's commercially incentivized, it takes on an air of urgency and legitimacy. So say it was ESPN where this guy is paid to spout nonsense (just a wild guess). You go there for sports news (urgency) and you consider it to be a trustworthy source (legitimacy). The problem is, there are so many people talking at once, saying the same things, that it's hard to find something original to talk about and thus differentiate oneself. Especially if somebody is paying you to write a blog. So the pressure produces nonsense from such fools. Why did you do a good thing by not linking to the article? Because such fools are rated by internet clicks. As they say, don't feed the paid trolls.

The thing is, I don't think he said it just to get attention. I think he said it because he has a totally myopic view of life. It wasn't the optimum situation for him, therefore, it must not be the optimum situation for everybody.
The media has an exaggerated opinion about their importance. The public does not have the right to know everything. The press is not an entity that has to have every whim catered to. Bill Belichek does not have to let us know why he didn't play Malcolm Butler. Only Robert Kraft can demand an answer. The media does not have to know Kyle Lowery's opinion on the DeRozan trade. If an athlete wants to let a reporter know what is going on in the locker room, that is his prerogative. If an athlete decides to listen to a bunch of questions that is his choice to make. The media needs to be reminded of their role. Their place. Be grateful you have a job that will comp your ticket, meals & hotel to go ask the same boring, non-consequential questions you've asked before & will the entire season.
