how do I edit off 40 man?

I made the mistake after my expansion draft of having the AI set up my team at a few points during my draft so I could view how my team looked. As a result, a few guys In AA ended up w/ major league deals and on my 40 man. I can edit their contract no problem, but I can't figure out how to edit them off my 40 man without waving them and hoping for the best. There must be a way.....does anyone know?

You can release them and use the editor to immediately put them back on a minor league affiliate.

If on the MLB roster edit them onto the minor league team and they will be removed from the 40
