Question about two-way players and choosing one/the other as GM
Is there an option to have them give up hitting or pitching?

Yes. In the individual player strategy section where you can lock a player to a minor league level or force start him at a position, you can also check a box to use a guy as a 2-way player or uncheck the box to not use him as a 2-way player. If you have your minor leagues delegated to your assistant GM and/or minor league managers then you have to lock a player to a minor league level in order to have access to that option. I assume that isn't true if you keep full control over the minors.
