Pinch Hitter in new Patch

One of the features listed in the latest patch was a pop up to add a pinch hitter, where can I find this feature at?

If you click on a player's position (or lineup spot) in-game, then it will pop up with a quick box to either insert them as a pinch hitter, pinch runner, or defensive sub. When you hover the cursor, you should be able to see a hint that those are buttons.

I have not played this patch yet so I will need to wait to see it myself because I am having trouble visualizing what Matt said. "If you click on a player's position (or lineup spot) in-game" means to me that the player is already in the game so how is it that you can then "insert them as a pinch hitter, pinch runner, or defensive sub"? I am looking forward to seeing this for myself.

If you look at batting order widget you will see AB highlighted next to the player who is scheduled to hit next. Clicking on the AB takes you to your available pinch hitters. Similar for runners on base, it takes you to available pinch runners.

…. and subs for defenders if the position is shown, i.e. not at bat or on base. We probably still need the substitution page for double-switches though, but this is very handy for normal use.

Yep, it's not meant for more complicated switches. But for a simple "I know I want to hit/run for this guy", it can save from going to the other page and having to drag guys around. We'll probably keep playing around with what stats/ratings show up there, but ever since I got the bullpen widget in I've wanted to do a similar thing for batters.
