Is the search function convoluted
Or am I simple? Trying to do my own leg work before asking questions on the forum. A simple search on how to find player ID's, so I can manually add real players to a fictional league, is like solving a rubiks cube to me. I haven't a clue how to narrow things down to get the returns I want.

you can find the player's ID in the .csv files. there are two .csv files - MLB and MiLB. they are located in the stats folder.
just a heads up, you can only search by one name in the .csv files, not a full name like Willie Mays. good luck/

Do you mean the forum search function? It definitely can be hard to find stuff in here. I usually try to do advanced search and then look at the titles only trying to get lucky. Otherwise it involves a bunch of looking through the titles for however many pages of search results you're willing to go.

So as a test..before I sprinkle players into the draft pool..I put a 20 year old Ron Guidry in my free agent pool. I figured I would wait a week to see if other teams would pay attention to him. The team from Oakland signed him that day to their minors. I find that so cool I feel excited like I did when I was 16 and messing around creating leagues.
