Facegen freeze at retirement

Unless I am missing something, it appears there still is no way to freeze a player's facegen at retirement. It's really immersion-breaking to me to see a picture of Ty Cobb with a black-and-white face, and a 2018 Tigers' uni in color.

Seems to me this should be more of an issue, but a forum search indicates it is not. Any workaround? Or some setting that I may have hopefully missed?

Yes, a minor irritant but an irritant for sure. Worse in long-lived games too, a guy retires with the NY Eagles but gets a New Jersey Seawolves jersey in his HoF pic.

Maybe the rendering could look like it's a bronze plaque

As a workaround couldn't you copy the player's photo at the time of retirement, rename it, and then point OOTP to load that photo instead of the facegen file?

Is it possible to use historical logos/uniforms (i.e. including dates in the logo, jersey and cap files) for this purpose? I once tried to make retired players wear the former uniform of a team by including the dates in the uniform files, but the players would always be displayed in the team's current uniform. I didn't know if I was doing something wrong, or if what I was trying to do wasn't possible.

I've had very few teams move and/or change uniforms in my fictional league because I haven't wanted retired players being shown in inaccurate uniforms. It would be great if there was a way to align players' playing careers with their teams' uniforms.

I'd really like to see this option added in a future version, or even better, in an update to 19. As stated earlier in the thread, this is especially hurtful in long-term saves. Also, it really seems like something that shouldn't be too difficult to implement.
