Tender/Non-Tender Deadline

Going through my first off-season. I tried to non-tender a player right before December. I received a message about his salary staying on my books if I release him. I don't see a Non-Tender Deadline date on the Scheduled Event list. Is it the day before the Free Agent filing date on November 22nd 2018?

Was he arbitration-eligible? If so, the deadline was before the arbitration hearings, I think Nov 21. You have to go into the arbitration interface and hit "Withdraw."

Actually the player was not arb eligible. Started sim with Standard Game 2018. In off-season on November 30th. Player has 109 days in ML service time. When I go to release him it says I will add $545,000 to my player expenses.

Sounds like he has a ML contract that auto renews. You will have to trade him to dump his salary

When is the auto renew date, the arbitration or free agent deadline?

Okay, I went back and loaded a save game from Nov 22 last year.

At this point everyone still showed having 2018 contracts.

I then found two stiffs. One guy I waived and the other I did not. Then I advanced the calendar to Nov. 23.

The guy I waived now shows as having a minor league contract. The guy I didn't has a 2019 major league contract.

The 23rd is the day FA files on this calendar.
