Careful if you are in commissioner mode

I thought commissioner mode would be about letting you edit schedules and ratings and but I've noticed two things which are an unintended side affect that I dont like..

* Coaches will never tell you they won't work for you if you offer them a salary not matter what team you put them in. You want an outstanding manager to manage your rookie team? No problem!

*Players will ignore coaching conflicts and will still negotiate with you if you try and extend their contract. When in commissioner mode the player had no problem with my team but when I turned off commissioner mode all of a sudden he player refused to even negotiate saying he didn't get along with the manager.

Any other things like this happen in commissioner mode?

The commissioner in Commissioner Mode is essentially what Kenesaw Mountain Landis was: someone whom God dreams of emulating.

Hey andy.
Why not turn it on when you need it. Then once done edits or whatnot, then turn it off.

If you right click players and are not paying attention it is easy to delete or clone them by accident. I have had to restore a league or two because of this accident.

You also ignore virtually all budgets in commish mode (even stuff like international amateur hard cards, cash in trades, future salaries, etc...).

Generally speaking, it's only intended when you actually want to be a commish of a league. So it's more intended if you are, say, watching a league and want the power to sign and trade players to various teams, and want to make sure the league flows in the right direction. It's not really intended to play out a regular game.

This is what I do too. Turn it on to edit draft classes/order, etc. and then back off.

So you basically just turn it on to edit things and then turn it back off? Which can basically be done at any time right?

That has not been my experience. I play in CM. I've had coaches turn down offers if the money wasn't good enough.

I turn it on to edit players for teh draft and when i edit players each January. i keep it off unless i forget. i always turn it off when negotiating with players the last 3 versions because i can go over team budgets.

Yes, exactly. Can be done whenever you want/need in Manager Options I believe. I do it just for those things, and for manually retiring players in January and April each year.

I create 2 GM profiles, one to play and then I switch to my commissioner profile to do league wide work.

that's what I end up doing but it's a pain to switch back and forth because I use it a lot to retire/delete the free agents when they get too big.

Your right they will turn down a salary for the amount of money but they will not turn down your offer if you plan on hiring them to a low level job even if they have a high rating. When I have commissioner mode off i get the, "I'm not interested in becoming coach of the Lancaster Jethawks (A+)"

Why would you need to manually retire players?

Don't love when guys hang around for too long. If someone hasn't played at any level in 2+ seasons, I retire them.

Sometimes the free agents list can get pretty large.
