Activation Code not working

I'm not sure where else to go with this right now, but I can't get my activation code to work.

I've attached the error code that I keep getting, and nothing seems to be getting around it. I put in a support ticket for this yesterday, and got a quick response. But then the steps suggested in that response didn't work. I wrote back to say so...and now it's more than 24 hours later, and I haven't heard anything back.

Checked in on the support ticket at lunch, put in another one about an hour ago - still nothing.

I searched the forum, and came across the link to OOTP Activation Problems, but that page didn't prove helpful. ...And it says it was last modified on March 20, 2015 - maybe time for an update? Because I tried following the directions to manually activate the game, and saw the following steps:

"Start OOTP (or FHM), and cancel out of the Buy Now screen."
....There was no Buy Now screen to cancel out of.

"Click the Enter License Key button."

OK.

"You'll get an error since you're not connected to the Internet so click Cancel"

But I didn't get an error message - just three minutes of nothing. There was no "Not Responding" message...just, nothing.

"In the product activation box that comes up select the 'activate using a different computer that has web access' radio button, and then click Next."

Never saw this button.

Then I followed all the steps in the stickied thread titled, "Game does not run at all? Try this" - and still the same error message.

Contacted the FB page, and got a quick response - that whomever was there isn't connected to support.

Not sure where to go from here, or what the expected wait time is for support issues - but I really thought I'd have heard something from somebody by now.

Many thanks to Lukas - and the whole OOTP team, really. The fault was on my end - I thought I'd followed all the recommended steps, but I must have missed something along the way.
