Add-ons Central

Anyone having a problem unzipping files downloaded from Add-ons Central? I sure am!

Why wouldn't you just use the in-game Add-Ons Central "install" feature?

make sure it recurses subdirectories or is that the vocab during compression.. lol you get the idea look for that checkbox. or make sure you are dragging to proper directory in first place.

using 7zip? winrar? it'll be there. use existing directory structure, merge with existing et al.. anything along those lines symantically.

maybe he is doing it in game? maybe a piece but not all is needed? slightly different but when i restore default data i never use the in-game option. i unzip the 1 or 2 directories i need to restore and it saves a ton of time...

maybe the ingame option will solve his ails. hard not to know it exists though if he got to addons central in first place.

The Add-ons Central has many files and after I download any of them I am unable to un-zip and open them.

The in-game Add-Ons Central "install" feature only shows three "skins" files.

I am at a loss!

Add this server to your add-on central list
http://ootpmods.com/mods/ootpmods18.xml

to do so go to OOTP18 main start screen look for add-ons central in the bottom left of screen (just right of the social media buttons).
On the next screen at the bottom right and just above the "close" button look for and click on add servers..
In the pop up that appears put the above link, hit enter and the left side should populate with a list of add ons available from the server.
chose the download(s) you want, click download when d/l complete click install and your done.

there may be other add on servers out there but this is the only one I have knowledge of, you can look through the add ons forum for others

you may have to restart the game for the add on to work its been a while since i add one

free app: "7zip"

for future use, you'll see an 'archive' again that needs to be unpacked at some point. this wil handle all the common types - rar, zip, tar, gz, blah blah blah

double clicking the file you downloaded is all it takes. it should default to "keep directory paths", no worries about that.
