Simming in the Future?

The question is those of you who have run sims beyond 2018. How does the game develop? Is the 2058 game as radically different from 2018 as the 1978 was? Do hitters who strike out 200 times a year still have jobs? Is there any meta-development in how the game is played?

I don't sim ahead I play out every team game. I have noticed that as just like in real life players will K 200 times and still hang around. Even had one make the HOF. Also you will find there will be fewer HOF quality players like today as well. At least statistically. I have had a few pleasant and cool surprises in store in my solo's. I seem to get more surprises with the hitters more so than the pitchers. For me its hard enough to get a pitcher with 200 wins. Just like today. So for me I would say the future simulations is pretty good and close to reality

as long as you don't change various things, it will remain the ~same with some fluctuation, of course.

*assumes it's not yar 1-~25 or so. fictional players that start in a league are not the same distribution as player created for the draft. once the league turns over, it's consistent with normal volatility year-to-year. any new era will have the same sort of turnover -- it can cause some statistical oddities. auto-calcing modifiers occasionally during turnover is a good idea.

Whatever combination of league totals and modifiers that you have set the baseline. if it doesn't change, the baseline won't change.**

**- affecting supply in extreme ways may also shift things around. if something in league causes a new and really wierd distribution of talent among teams, that's a possible cause for change too. i.e. don't double the # of rounds created and expect things to be exactly the same.

Eras change before 2018 in the game because the game changes LTM/LT's. after 2018, there's no script to follow to match up to an era.

there is a "Year" and "historical year" [sic] in the settings. the historical year is what will control the financials and stats and ai stuff (LTM/LT etc). So, you can be in year 2051 and historic year "1961", if you wanted. it will auto-increment and the league statistical environment will change with it as needed.

you don't have to follow it year-by-year either. just enter a year you want to mimic, auto-calculate new modifiers if tehy did not change with the new totals and you are set... now change "historical year" to anythinig after 2018 and it will remain as set until you change it again.

It all depends on your settings
