Fast Break Pro Basketball 3 is a text based NBA management sim, with realistic statistics and a good historical database. It is pretty stable, but updates are few and far between. I don't know if it is available for Mac, though.

You can google it and find out everything you need to know.

I've been looking for one that is even close to as good as OOTP. Where I can historically replay and it actually play well.

I have draft day sports, and that's okay. But it's buggy and I haven't had it flow like a GM like OOTP would be.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I don't understand why OOTP Developments hasn't explored a basketball sim yet. Basketball is a much bigger sport internationally than both hockey and (American) football and with advanced analytics in the sport, it seems to lend itself better to a text-based sim.

Yeah, I don't understand it either. A text-based basketball management sim with the statistical depth and customizability of OOTP Baseball would be great!

The bad thing about Fast Break Pro Basketball is that the game has virtually no support. If you ask a question on the forum you are likely to wait months for an answer--if you ever do get one.

While i like football and hockey, without being able to play my Endor leagues on them i will never buy them. An NBA sim i would buy even if i cant have my Endor league. As i have said many times before i want a starting lineup of Shaq, Rodman, Pip, MJ & Kobe set to 1988 for modifiers. I would be the 1st in line for a basketball sim.

Long answer is that there is not a good one. Fast Break Basketball 3 is the best of a very mediocre group.

Have to be more specific anout what you want to do with the game, but when exporting the game, you get a JSON file, and the times I've messed with it the game won't read. I tried expanding my league and it couldn't use the file for some reason. Luckily, there are online JSON proofreaders, but I haven't tried to pull that again. They sell a hacked god mode booklet to help you out.

For some reason for me baseball is the only sport I like as text based. Visuals are nice but not necessary. For the other three sports I need to have some visual, even if it is text based, I need to see the action or it's a no go for me.
