New to OOTP/fantasy baseball - where to start?

Like the title says, I'm very new to OOTP as well as fantasy baseball, and I'm a somewhat casual baseball fan (mostly because I'm too busy to follow it). Is there a good way to learn OOTP? Seems like a very steep learning curve

start simply, add layers...

e.g. i played a few seasons with 100% accuracy and few other forces outside of development "turned on" and whatever else i thought were the meat and potatoes of the game and not just a layer of sophistication (ie personality injects volatility, variety etc, a detriment to learning, initially). then i turned things on or they were added as new featuers as time has gone by. i plopped them all on at once instead of one at a time when i was comfortable.. not the brightest.. i give better advice than my own behaviour.

(think personality, coaching, TCR - talent change randmness... before i fooled with stats output etc etc. this stuff is all good, but clouds the picture when learning. turning them on slowly will also teach you alot about them individually too.... as opposed to all at once and you have no idea which force is what int he game)
