Thinking of only using potential ratings
If I were to use only potential ratings, I am wondering what to expect in terms of AI behavior.
Will the AI still know the actual ratings? I assume it would. If so, is there a way to make the AI behave in a manner in which it only sees potentials? As a human, I would be using stats much more to gauge actual ability, so I am wondering if this style of play would have me adjust the AI evaluation and/ or the “base overall AI evaluation” check box. |

On the major league league_settings/Rules screen, there is an option "Base minor league depth charts and pitching staff on " -> "potential ratings".
You may already know, but on the Game_settings/AI_settings screen, a percentage weight for "ratings", "current year", ... "2 years ago". Setting to 100% ratings would eliminate stats evaluation, but I'm pretty sure those would be current rather than potential ratings the AI managers would use. On the Game_settings/Global_Settings screen, setting "Player Actual Ratings Scale" to "None Displayed" would certainly prevent you from seeing actual ratings. Might be all the AI managers see as well. If not, perhaps you could create a bunch of human managers, then change their control settings to use the AI for all decisions, then set all the artificial "human managers" in "Do not disturb" mode. Just a thought. Last edited by jmknpk2; 11-09-2017 at 04:36 PM. |
