Rust in the playoffs
I've read some posts about rust generally and have a basic understanding, but I'm looking for some thoughts/advice on my specific situation. I am going into game 7 of the NLCS, and I just noticed that the other team is starting a pitcher that hasn't played in a game (including spring training or minor league) in 13 months due to an injury. He was activated from the DL at the start of this series. How much of an impact will rust have? Does the AI do this regularly?
Also, I have a hitter and starting pitcher (both very goid) that have been out for a month but can now be activated. I assumed I should leave them on the DL due to the rust issue, but seeing what the AI is doing has me rethinking. If I make it to the World Series, should I consider putting one or both on the playoff roster? |

If they're good players I'd play them immediately. It's the playoffs, I can justify losing with my best guys on the field. Tougher to do that when my stars are on the bench, even if they're rusty.
