Financial Question
So I started a game in 2009, simmed five seasons, and took over the expansion Montreal Expos in 2013, for the 2014 season.
My question is, when players declared for free agency, there are quite a few that are initially asking for a very small number. One example, is Scott Kazmir. Having pitched Ok for the Dodgers(12-13, 3.94 ERA), he's initially asking for 3 years at 2m per year. I looked on Baseball Reference, and he made 7m with Oakland in 2014, and 13m in 2015 with the Astros. I know the game can be different, with different outcome for players, but asking for only 2m per year seems way off. Anyone else seen this, and should I change things up somehow under the "financials" section when setting up the game? I'll continue playing the game and see what Kazmir ends up signing for, but just his initial asking price seems way off. Asdrubal Cabrera is another one. He's asking for 3.6m and in real life making 10m. Maybe it will all play out in the end, but the gap is so wide!! |

ensure the financial and other stuff are being imported for historical play... in league settings area.. one of the last tabs, think it says historical? anyway gui, can't miss.
also, don't expect it to mirror life... it models life.. a bit different. and, that's just referencing evaluation and results etc etc.. not to mention the game isn't perfectly scaled in all ways for all player-types relative to how it is in the real MLB.. it is close, and the other stuff is spot on too, for the most part. |
