Stats only league
I am looking at starting up a STATS ONLY league with a small dedicated group of OOTP fanatics. Over half the teams are already spoken for from my friends in the OOTP / other sports sim games. In addition we have a couple of solid GMs from the BETA team.
STATS ONLY = stats only. No ratings, No Potential ratings, No Talent Ratings, No Coaches, No visible injury rating. Coaches ON - Very Low setting, All ratings for coaches set to 1 with the same preference. Hidden Ratings ON - this will give you the basic info for the batters like speed, run, defense & will help with Pitchers in terms of knowing stamina since we won't see the actual pitching arsenal. Finances - Balanced to start & Revenue sharing system for competitive balance long term This is referred to the ultimate way of playing OOTP for the grandest challenge as a GM. We would use feeder leagues with stats history. The concept is to start with a complete new fictional league with some history on stats built-up over 5-10 seasons before we start. No inaugural draft, Random Draft to pick your team. AAA, AA, A, R minor leagues with age restrictions along with College / HS feeders with stats history. I just returned from my business trip and I am happy to report we have a great group of interested GMs. I will keep this open for the next month or so to see how many more GMs express their interest.

The MLB concept was far too detailed and complex to work out so we are going to stick with a fictional concept instead. I've updated the original post to reflect this change. We are testing out a trial setup before we take the plunge to make sure everyone that signs in is definitely interested in a true stats only setup.
