Have an idea for a fantasy world and need some help
I want to essentially make a baseball league that reflects how professional soccer works - no divisions, no playoffs (for most leagues), (almost) everyone has a youth team, less teams in general. So I'm thinking of doing something like 20 teams in a league, each plays the other team twice (one at home, one away) for a total of 38 games.
First, should I adjust the aging/growth so that they age a bit slower (because of less games played) and they grow a bit faster (for the same reason)?
Second, I want all-stars selected, but no game played. How do I do that?
Third, I want the financials to be pretty realistic but also want a hard cap to allow for fairer competition. I recall this being difficult in prior seasons because of arbitration and stuff, but I think if I do $1 cash maximum and start the league with a fantasy draft it could be okay.
Fourth, I only want 3 starting pitchers, 3 relievers, and 1 closer. The problem with this before is that the AI couldn't figure out how to properly use relievers and the runs would be nuts. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or should I just stick with 5 relievers?
Thanks in advance!
