AI signing then releasing players?
I've been noticing the AI doing this in a save I'm playing with. The AI signs then releases a player on the same day. This is happening with teams in independent leagues that I've created along side of the MLB.
What you see in the screenshot isn't unusual, yet all teams don't do this. I can't seem to find any pattern or reason for this. So, anyone have any idea what is going on here?

What are your settings for your indy league? Do you have any roster limit settings?

Why the heck does this never get fixed? If you have no roster limits you have AI controlled minor league teams with 75-100 or more players on them. If you turn on roster limits you get this steaming pile of BS. Sign release, sign release, repeat, repeat, repeat, until your news feeds are clogged.
And yes it's bee going on for a hell of a long time. The way to limit (not eliminate, mitigate) is to use age limits as well as roster limits on your low minors and Indy leagues. |

I don't want to set age limits, as these are supposed to be indy leagues so I'd hope they'd have some older players who never caught on in the MLB but played well enough to have careers in these leagues. But what really worries me is what effect this is having on these team's budgets. If you are signing a player to a contract, then releasing them, I'm guessing they are on the hook for the money, right? For a small team that scrapes by that can't be good. |
